Goosnargh Parish Clerk Vacancy

After 22 years working as a Parish Clerk, Mrs Julie Buttle has announced her intention to retire.

Consequently, Goosnargh Parish Council is seeking a motivated person to take on the post of Clerk to the Council and Responsible Financial Officer (RFO).

The post is part time for an average of 5 hours per week - although this can be extended by applying for a separate vacancy at Whittingham Parish Council.

Working mainly from home, the hours of work are flexible - except for attendance at meetings - which are held on the 4th Monday of each month at at 7.30pm.

Salary will be based on the National Association of Local Councils pay scale SCP 18 – 23 currently £16.35 - £17.85 per hour. The exact point will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.  

Candidates must be IT literate with space to store Council equipment and files securely at a home address 

Duties are detailed on the attached job description and include acting as advisor to the Council, minute taking, compilation of correspondence and accounts, filing, administering the Parish Council’s Website and being the first contact for residents and external agencies.

Relevant local government experience will be an advantage although training will be provided.
